Our potential does not lie in our yesterdays. It cannot be found in what we have already accomplished, our potential starts with today and what we do with today.
God has a way of saving His world that we may find hard to understand. He introduced His Son into the world and brought about our salvation in a way that could easily be overlooked—and yet He has changed the world, and His kingdom keeps growing. That same God comes into our lives and draws us into His plans for a hope-filled future!
We shout to the Creator of the universe, the One Who spoke the heavens and earth into existence. We shout to the One Who fashioned each one of us uniquely in our mother’s womb, Who knows the exact number of hairs on our heads, Who has designed our divine destinies, Who has been working on our behalf since the day we took our first breath.
God has a plan for carrying you to completion. He sends the sunshine and pours out the rain. He lifts up and prunes to produce much fruit. He plans to make every barren area abundant. His intention is not to harm, but to prosper.
Through a tiny baby born in Bethlehem, God demonstrated how absolutely, unconditionally, limitlessly, and incomprehensibly He loves us. Never doubt the depth of His love.
Whatever burdens have buried the beauty of Bethlehem in your life, roll them back to remember God has provided all you need. Never allow these words to fall on deaf ears: For God so loved…you.
Today, revisit the "yesterdays" of this year. Meditate and wonder at the work of His hands. Find a way to memorialize His goodness: write it in your journal, sing a new song of worship, capture it in a photo. When your family or friends ask, tell them: “This is how God revealed Himself to me this year.”
More than just the Babe of Bethlehem, He is the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world. Do you recognize Him? Have you received Him? Accept this greatest of gifts!
Like the shepherds on that Bethlehem night, we “make widely known” all that God has done for us. Like the heavenly host, we bring the “good tidings of great joy.” The free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ for all people!
