Today's Scripture | 1 Corinthians 12:9-10
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Have the battles of last year left you exhausted? You're frustrated because you don't want this year to be like last year?
Take heart! He has not abandoned you. The fight you face may look like the same old battle, but it's not.
Why? God has changed you! You fought battles last year that made you stronger, you have endured hardship like a good soldier, you're more resilient. In the darkest nights and the fiercest battles, God has revealed Himself to you in powerful ways, and you will never be the same. You have learned to cover yourself in the whole armor of God and wage war in heavenly places.
It might look like a familiar fight to you, but you are a different fighter. It may look like one more chapter in a long war, but you are a different warrior. It might require one more lap, but you are not losing ground. You are laying claim to enemy territory.
Every hard-won step brings you that much closer to victory. The darkness is passing away, and a true light is already shining. You are well able to overcome! Hang in there, don't dwell on yesterday, focus on today.
A Prayer for You:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you and give you His peace. You are the property of heaven, and God is your Defender. May He bring down your enemies by the power of His might. May you be led by the Holy Spirit, with clarity and purpose. In Jesus' name, amen.
