Today's Scripture Psalm 34:1
I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Praising God changes the atmosphere. Psalm 22 declares that God is enthroned in – inhabits – the praises of Israel.
When we are going through a difficult situation, our persistent praise is a personal invitation to the throne room of God. It welcomes Him to show up and demonstrate His power in our circumstances.
Consider Job who lost so much in one day – his ten children, business, and health. Kneeling beside freshly-dug graves, Job said, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away” (Job 1:21). Job’s praise did not cancel the facts. In spite of them, he followed those words with: “Blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job was not in denial; he made a declaration.
God had been good to him in the past, and he could trust Him in the present. He had blessed him in the best of times, and He would not abandon him in the worst. God was too wise to be mistaken and too loving to be unkind. And even while walking through the darkest valley of his life…blessed be the name of the Lord.
God is consistent and constant. Praise Him…even in the middle of the storm. Your praise demonstrates your trust and invites Him to your side. Bless the Lord at all times.
