Heritage Christian Center Missions
Isaiah 34:1
Come here and listen, O nations of the earth. Let the world and everything in it hear my words.
On December 1st, 2006 God sent 12 mighty men and women of God from Heritage Christian Center on a journey that would divinely change their lives forever. The journey was a Mission's Trip to Ibadan, Nigeria, located on the continent of Africa and the experience was one of transformation, impartation and revelation in God's Kingdom.
More about this HCC Missions Trip to Africa
For 14 days straight, we saw God manifest His power through pastors and ministers’ conferences, camp meetings and village crusades. It was exciting as well as encouraging to see God use each team member in a life impacting way through the gifts of the Spirit. Whether via an exhortation, sermon, prayer, or praise and worship, God used the entire team to accomplish His will in this awesome season of ministry.
On Dec 5th - 7th, we were given the honor of ministering at a 3-day crusade solely focused on soul winning, and God was so faithful. Not only did we see souls won to the Lord, but demons were cast out and empowerment for ministry was deposited into the lives of many.
On Monday, Dec 11, God restored the vision of a man that was partially blind. Word spread throughout the entire area in which the camp meeting was held and the next day, although there was no meeting scheduled, people showed up on their own and were waiting for us, hoping that we were coming back for a second night. God truly is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
Earlier that morning, we had the opportunity to visit one of the prisons in Ibadan and conducted a worship service for the residents. God's presence was so strong and souls were won into the kingdom. About 4 or 5 days later, we received word that several of the residents that attended the service were released from prison. Is that a God thing or what?!
The most memorable part of the missions trip for me was the village crusade that we did on Thursday, Dec15th. It was at this village crusade that we dedicated the first fresh water well ever built in the particular village that we were in, and it was also the first time that the people of this village have ever had clean water.
Our prayer was that the water well that we built would bring forth clean, fresh water which would be a testimony of Jesus being our true, pure and only source of living water; and of course, God did not disappoint! Minister Mike Johnston preached a powerful message of salvation after the water well dedication and just about the entire village responded to the alter call, including a few Muslims.
In conclusion, for over a year before we actually went on this missions trip, the entire team would get together on a regular basis to pray as God would direct us concerning His plans. God not only answered every prayer, but he did it with exceeding abundance as only He is able to do. Each of us have been divinely transformed for God's sake and will never be the same. The experience was eye opening, life changing, humbling, and empowering all at the same time. The people of Africa are so beautiful, precious and unique. They are truly God's hidden treasures that He is about to use to set the world on fire for His Glory!
Although God used us as a team for His Glory, in so many ways, we received so much more than we gave. -Written by Minister Moy
